ABOUT US

For the preservation of the wonder of childhood, we offer a journey of discoveries in an environment that sparks connection and curiosity.
Located on a gorgeous private property near the beach in Cemagi, we provide emotional and environmental safety with a child-led pedagogy that understands the most recent findings of early childhood development research. We honor the process of learning rather than performance-based outcomes.
The Bloom Boutique Atelier curriculum integrates practical life skills, scientific research, and a holistic understanding of nature. Our focus is on nurturing a strong foundation for the healthy development of body, mind, and spirit as well as a love of learning for ages 1 – 7 years.

Inspired by the Reggio Emilia philosophy, learning happens organically with a program that is tailor-made as we evolve through the year based on the interests of our unique children as individuals, as well as our group dynamic as a whole, living ecosystem.

IMAGE OF THE CHILD

Every child is seen as resilient, confident, and competent. We believe that children are capable of expressing their own ideas, making independent choices, playing and working well with others.

In this concept resides our focus on your child’s autonomy and the importance we give to our childrens’ opinions and choices. During the morning assembly, we listen to our childrens’ ideas and respect their decisions. Teachers and students begin their investigations with open-ended questions, co-building knowledge together.

At Bloom, we consider all of our children as equally important. We embrace every child in their uniqueness, respecting your child’s right to be welcomed as a whole person.

We do not score, label, or grade. Rather, we respect each child’s uniqueness. Providing and maintaining open and ongoing relationships and communication between families, teachers, and the team.

We embrace every child in
their uniqueness, respecting
your child’s right to be
welcomed as a whole person.

THE 100 LANGUAGES
Our educators and students work together on projects based on the interests of the class group. At Bloom, we offer our children the opportunity to express themselves using the 100 Languages.
This refers to the interdisciplinary knowledge in accordance with the multiple intelligence theory where a wide variety of tools, subjects, and modalities are offered which our children can explore, dive into and blossom through (eg. drama, song, sculpting, engineering). Working on long term projects allows your child and their teacher to explore and investigate a topic together
This promotes the development of creative intelligence, divergent thinking and strengthens problem solving skills. We consider it essential to teach our children to dive into topics deeply, considering and exploring different potential answers to the same question.
Our educators begin investigating a topic by asking a question. We then focus on the thought process rather than the final result or performance achievement. Student and teacher embark on a journey of discoveries together building the path as they go.

OUR PARENTS the First teacher
Parents play a vital role in our Reggio philosophy; they are viewed as partners, collaborators, and advocates for our children.
Our educators respect parents as each child’s first teacher, and involve parents in every aspect of the curriculum.
We invite our parents to volunteer within Bloom’s classrooms and activities. Each parent’s role is integral to our community and we invite them to take part in discussions about school policy, child development concerns, and curriculum planning and evaluation.
We encourage families to bring their unique ideas and skills to the school. This encourages connection between parents and educators: an intrinsic element of collegiality and integration of different wisdoms.
